| BERGAMOT | STEADY |
A reasonable crop is forecasted from Sicily. Prices are expected to remain stable. |
|
BLOOD ORANGE |
STEADY |
A reasonable crop is expected from Sicily. Stable price positions may only be affected by the freeze situation developing with the sweet orange crops in Florida. |
|
GRAPEFRUIT |
STEADY |
The current Florida crop is reported to be the smallest on record. The reason that prices are not escalating rapidly is due to lack of demand, particulary in Japan, where it is perceived that strong historical use has been replaced with different flavours. |
|
ORANGE |
FIRM |
A substantial reduction has been estimated in the Florida crop which is currently being processed. The recent freeze is causing further jitters. Orange Oil from Brazil has seen some sporadic price spikes recently which may have been fuelled by the news from Florida. |
|
LEMON |
FIRM |
There has been a drought in Argentina which affected the bloom and setting of fruit for the 2010, so the crop forecast has been adjusted down. Strong global demand for fresh fruit and juice is naturally affecting prices of all the derivatives, so the price of Lemon Oil has firmed up in recent weeks. |
|
LIME DISTILLED |
STEADY |
This is the low season in Mexico so prices have firmed as they always do, but essentially the market is steady for both the Expressed and Distilled Oil. Last year's crop met demand with no hiccups and next season is expected to be the same. |
|
LIME EXPRESSED |
STEADY |
The comments above apply. |
| MANDARIN | STEADY |
A reasonable crop is expected from Sicily, although it is too early to say whether the high prices over the past couple of years will soften.
|
| TANGERINE | STEADY | The market continues steady as supply and demand are evenly balanced. |
