Vacuum Distillation

The Company started by manufacturing folded citrus oils and rapidly expanded its facilities to produce the highest quality terpeneless and sesquiterpeneless oils.

The concentration of natural citrus oils removes a high percentage of the terpene hydrocarbons (insoluble components) which readily oxidise leaving a poor odour and flavour. Terpeneless and sesquiterpeneless oils are of prime importance where solubility and long shelf life are required in an end product.  Modern methods of controlled fractionation are employed and stringent process control is enforced at each stage to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

Steam Distillation

English Distilled Oils are another important product range manufactured by Lionel Hitchen (Essential Oils) Limited at Barton Stacey.

By insisting on the latest analytical techniques, only the best raw materials are selected and by using the most modern stainless steel equipment the highest quality of consistent production is guaranteed.  The Company produces herb and spice oils from seeds, roots, buds, twigs and leaves.  English Distilled Oils are favoured for their superior quality and consistency by the food and cosmetic industries.
